It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our Chief Scientist, William Perez, Ph.D., PMP. this past week after a battle with cancer. Bill was an outstanding human factors scientist who has had experiences initially in the defense industry and for over 30 years, as an expert in the transportation industry.
Bill has been a huge supporter of toXcel for the past 9 years, teaming up with toXcel on research projects through his leadership roles at Leidos and Battelle. Upon his retirement from full-time work, he joined toXcel, LLC 3 years ago in a part-time role so he could spend more time with his family while also continuing to stay active in the transportation industry.
Our President, Bryan Katz, worked as an employee for Bill when he was at Leidos and Bryan valued the mentorship that Bill provided. When Bryan founded the Engineering and Behavioral Sciences division at toXcel, Bill continued to provide mentorship and advice to Bryan which helped to make toXcel the success it is today. Bill has continued to provide leadership and support on contracts with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Federal Highway Administration, and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA.
Bill will be truly missed. He was a mentor and friend to many people at toXcel and in our industry. We appreciate all that Bill has done for toXcel and he will always be an important part of our history and success.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Bill’s family during this difficult time.
