EPA PRIA Registration Fees Increase 5% on October 1, 2026<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Starting October 1, 2026, EPA will apply a 5% increase to pesticide registration service fees under the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act of 2022 (PRIA 5). The new fees apply to applications received on or after that date.<\/p>\n

This is the second and final fee increase built into PRIA 5. The law allowed it only after EPA finished an independent third-party audit of its registration program and started acting on the audit’s findings. With the audit complete and EPA’s improvements underway (including backlog reduction efforts and the new MyPeST Submission Portal rollout), the higher fee schedule is now taking effect in FY2027.<\/p>\n

Plan ahead for FY2027<\/strong><\/p>\n

If your FY2027 plans include new registrations, amendments, new uses, or other fee-bearing actions, now is the time to update your budget. Estimates prepared under the current fee schedule may no longer reflect what you’ll pay at submission. Updating your numbers now can help you avoid surprises and keep projects on schedule.<\/span><\/p>\n

What about maintenance fees?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This increase applies only to PRIA registration service fees, the one-time fees paid with a registration application. It does not affect the annual maintenance fees that keep registered products active due annually in January. Maintenance fees are calculated separately: EPA sets them each year based on a total collection target set by law, spread across all registered products. EPA typically announces the maintenance fee amount for the coming year toward the end of the calendar year and toXcel<\/em> will keep you updated on those fees when announced.<\/p>\n
