On February 10, 2025, California\u2019s Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) announced a modified rulemaking to list nail products containing methyl methacrylate (MMA) at concentrations greater than 1,000 parts-per-million as a Priority Product under the California Safer Consumer Products (SCP) Regulations. The scope of the regulation includes nail coatings and artificial nails that contain MMA. The modification to the proposed regulation changes the definition of the Priority Product to exclude nail products containing less than or equal to 1,000 parts per million (ppm) of MMA from the definition of the Priority Product.
